FULL ON DIM SUM

The Friday Brunch tradition has now slowly sneaked up on Saturday, so when we heard about the Chinese-themed brunch, we just had to check it out.

With an amazing unmatched view of the Marina skyscrapers, the option to sit outdoors on the deck overlooking the beach, is hard to say no to despite the high temperatures. Outside you can enjoy the party tunes of the live DJ and a more relaxed atmosphere but if you prefer cooler temperatures and a calmer ambience then seat inside.

A “Yum-Cha brunch” is traditionally focused on tea and dim-sum, but this one is a little more contemporary.  Instead you can pick from the alcoholic and non-alcoholic package but the food remains the same.  Cleverly divided into soups, chilled/bbq, dim-sum and wok there is plenty of variety, including some pork dishes.

It is best to start with the subtle flavored drunken chicken and refreshing papaya salad.  Dim-sum fans have a lot to look forward to as there is a wide variety of seafood and chicken dumplings-our personal favorite were the soy sticky chicken and the Cantonese crystal seafood.

The crunchy Szechuan spiced soft shell crab is definitely worth trying.  Anyone who enjoys noodles will thoroughly enjoy the wok-fried udon with black pepper beef.

The added bonus is that the party doesn’t have to end once the food is done instead guests are allowed beach and pool access till late and the hotel provides towels and changing room facilities.

So if you want to end the weekend on a high note then head over with group of close friends for a long lazy afternoon filled with good food, followed by free access to the beach.
