Enjoy quiet corners and cozy nooks in a lush green setting at HOYA.
HOYA is a blissful plant-filled cafe located on the buzzing Al Manara stretch. Spanning over two levels, the mezzanine floor houses a charming plant shop where you can pick up everything from cute succulents to a mature olive tree. Apart from the plants, there are also shelves stacked with books that we adore. From fiction to non-fiction, architecture to fashion, there is something for everyone to pickup and read or then simply browse.
On the ground floor the curated bookshelf wall has a surprise that lies behind it-a quaint secret garden with a picturesque pond with seating. In this blissful outside area they encourage guests to not use their phones-an idea that we absolutely support!
The all-day dining menu includes salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizzas. There are also healthier options including poke and açai bowls. We noticed they also serve breakfast for lunch so we went ahead and picked the eggs Florentine-poached eggs served with a creamy hollandaise sauce, steamed spinach and a house salad. A simple but satisfying meal that kept us fuelled for most of the day.
They have a long drinks menu with milkshakes, teas and iced drinks but we were keen to try their speciality coffee. The flat white we ordered was fantastic and they get extra bonus points for serving Brazil beans!
HOYA is more than just an ordinary cafe, they are focused on also building a community where like-minded people can come together. Their monthly calendar is filled with events including storytelling and book reading that we are looking forward to attending.
