THIS DINE AND SHOP CONCEPT OFFERS A MODERN FUSION MENU

Chaihona No 1 by Vasilchuki is located in the heart of Dubai Marina.

Located on the buzzing Dubai Marina walk, Chaihona No 1 by Vasilchuki is a place we had been waiting for to open its doors. The large picturesque terrace overlooking the water is what first caught our attention when the place was still under construction.

A one-of-a-kind concept of dine and shop means it ticks all the boxes for us. As we step inside we are welcomed by a boutique florist V. SHOP, where apart from admiring the stunning bouquets, one can also purchase or pre-order the exquisite floral decorations. There is an eclectic selection of trinkets and artworks available to purchase around the restaurant.

The homely interiors filled with live plants and comfy seating is very aesthetically pleasing. From the lighting to the placement of the plants, it has all been thoughtfully curated.

The modern fusion menu combines Eastern European heritage dishes with the flavors of the Middle East and Asia designed by Head Chef Sergei Suschenko. Inspired by his travels and love for cookbooks, the menu is very unique.

We started with the warm butternut squash soup with prawn and croutons was smooth in texture and delicious in taste-this dish will have us coming back very soon again.

The baked camembert with figs was more than just a visual treat, it was an indulgent weekend pick-me-up dish that is worth trying. We balanced it off with the avocado quinoa salad that came with a light dressing and is a great dish if you are looking for something filling and healthy.

We had heard about Chef Suschenko’s black dumplings with salmon and red caviar and just had to try them out. The perfect order for a seafood lover, we adored the delicately cooked dish.

The beef stroganoff was juicy and tender and served with a side of perfectly made mashed potatoes.

The dessert counter has some very tempting options and we picked the signature pavlova mille-feuille with cream, berries, mango puree and a dash of lingonberry powder to end our meal.

Chaihona No. 1 by Vasilchuki, is open throughout the day, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we couldn’t be happier to have this innovative and exciting concept right in our own neighborhood!
