TWG Tea is known as one of the finest tea brands in the world and they have their first dedicated salon and boutique in Dubai Mall.
On offer is an astonishing selection of around 400 different teas, including blue and red tea, as well as the extremely rare white tea: made with Yin Zhen ‘silver needles’ and mixed with pure bergamot. A particular delight is ‘Oud Night Tea’ – a special blend inspired by Dubai, and available exclusively in the UAE. If the large selection on offer becomes too overwhelming, a highly-trained tea specialist can help you choose a flavour to suit your palette.
Every item on the salon menu has been infused and inspired by tea. An affordable high tea starts at Dhs 60. The Croque Imperial with Gruyere cheese and smoked salmon is also to be recommended. The scones and macaroons are also delicious, both containing a tantalising hint of tea. However, the star of the show has to be the Singapore Surprise (30 AED): a pudding made with Vanilla Bourbon cream caramelized on top with mixed wild berries – one taste will have you going back for more.
The salon boasts a traditional salon vibe, yet it is decadent and regal at the same time, thanks to its dark wood furnishings and fine bone china. The servers will not fail to impress with their extensive knowledge of the teas and refreshments on offer and the food is a gastronomical delight.
There is an entire section dedicated to bespoke tea packages ranging from birthday boxes to an exclusive Oud range, there is also a more playful selection with fun messages.
You definitely do not have to be a tea connoisseur to enjoy a visit to TWG Tea.
