CMP Bar & Grill is located at The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah.
CMP Bar & Grill is inspired by the infamous meatpacking district of Chicago, today known as ‘The Yards’. The menu focuses on the ideology of ‘Simple Done Right’, so whether it’s the finest cuts of steaks that are aged and grilled to perfection or the homemade desserts baked from scratch, nothing is overdressed.
The dark wood decor and the leather seating gives the place a polished vibe without being too formal. It is split over two floors with the upstairs has a more casual ambience. Both floors have outdoor seating that overlooks the fountains and Atlantis.
The menu begins with appetizers that are ideal for sharing. After much deliberation our party of three finally picked a few options. The housemade queso nachos were served with slow cooked chilli con carne, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, jalapeños, chives. This is a hearty meal on its own.
The fresh Burrata came highly recommended by our server and although we are a bit tired of seeing it on menus around town, this one is really special. It is accompanied with heirloom tomatoes, basil, hickory smoked salt and drizzled with olive oil. The good quality ingredients shine through and make this dish worth trying.
The star of the appetizers was the grilled bone marrow that came with hand cut crisps and a flavorful chimichurri. Having tried quite a few versions of bone marrow lately-this is definitely the top one!
The first item on the mains that caught our attention was the  breaded Canadian milk-fed veal served with a house salad. A large portion, it was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist inside.
The steak selection at CMP is fabulous. They are all are wet-aged to perfection for a minimum of 90 day and the grill serves up both USDA Certified Angus Beef 150 Day Grain Fed and New Zealand Grass Fed Beef. Our order of the rib-eye and fillet were served up with grilled asparagus, truffle mash sides and mushroom and chimichurri sauces.
One would think we would have no space for dessert. But since we were so impressed with everything that we had eaten, we knew the dessert won’t disappoint. The sticky toffee pudding is an indulgent treat that you won’t regret ordering.
Overall, CMP is definitely the place to head to when you are craving good wholesome food without the fuss.
