Friday Brunch at Morimoto Dubai.
Chef Masaharu Morimoto is known for his ingenious Japanese food and we take any chance we get to visit Morimoto, his Dubai outpost. The Morimoto Brunch on Friday afternoons is one that we recently tried and as always, it hit the spot.
This lavish spread includes signature dishes served on the table, as well as by the chefs at the open kitchen and sushi bar live stations.
Once seated guests pick from a choice of soup (miso or ramen), dumplings (spinach or prawn), tempura and fried chicken. As our table filled up with these hot starters, we browsed the sushi counter and came back with our plates full.
The choice of sushi and sashimi is incredible-everything is fresh and being prepared right in front of us. We also picked a few oysters, loaded up on a fresh tuna and salmon salads and enjoyed the fusion-style tacos.
There is a choice of main courses-we picked the black cod and the angry chicken (although the grilled steak looked very tempting!). Both are popular dishes on the menu and honestly, meals on their own. The hearty side dishes include moreish potatoes and soul-warming vegetable fried rice.
The grand finale has to be the most beautifully decorated dessert platter that is brought out to the table. A mix of fruit and cakes, it truly is something that deserves to be eaten slowly to really enjoy every aspect of it.
The Morimoto Brunch is a celebration of good food and it is the best way to get a complete taste of what the restaurant has to offer.
