TRYING THE NON-INVASIVE ICOONE BODY TREATMENTS IN DUBAI

Icoone is a non-invasive body and face treatment for concerns like cellulite and skin texture at Evolution Clinic in Jumeira.

Despite making an effort to stay active (fitness classes almost daily) and eat well (most days), I’ve still been feeling sluggish and bloated, and definitely not as toned as I’d like. In an effort to take it up a notch, I began researching different body treatments that could give me that extra boost I felt I needed. I wasn’t surprised to find plenty of treatments promising to address these concerns, but I wanted something non-invasive and trusted.

Icoone caught my attention as it uses LED and laser technology. Developed in Italy, it is known for being a comfortable, non-invasive treatment that seemed to cover everything I was looking for (and more). On the technical side, it uses patented Roboderm technology, combining motorised rollers with gentle suction to stimulate the skin and underlying connective tissue.

What interested me most was its ability to target a range of concerns, from cellulite and fluid retention (my biggest issue) to skin firmness (my arms need this!) and overall body contouring, with different programmes tailored to specific areas of the body.

The session begins with a thorough consultation to make sure there are no underlying health issues or concerns that could affect the treatment. A course of 10 sessions spread over maximum three times a week is recommended, and there is also the option to combine it with the Iyashi Dome (which we went for). Of course, it is important to understand that the machine isn’t a miracle worker and to have realistic expectations.

Before getting started, I change into a white, full-body suit made from a thin, stretchy fabric that fits (very) snugly against the skin and is, quite frankly, always a struggle to get into. It isn’t particularly glamorous, but it serves a purpose, allowing the machine to glide smoothly over the body. The same suit is used for all 10 sessions, so they keep it for you between appointments, which means it’s best to be a little careful when getting in and out of it.

The machine itself looks a little intimidating at first, with its screen, various attachments and long tubes extending from it. I can’t help but think of an octopus when I see it, but thankfully, the experience is nowhere near as daunting as the equipment makes it look.

The therapist programs the machine according to individual concerns, and for the next hour, I follow her instructions as she works on different areas of the body, switching between settings and attachments. Some parts are a little more intense than others, but once you settle in, it is easy for me to drift off to sleep. I always put my phone away and use this time to really switch off, or at most listen to some relaxing music.

I am now halfway through my treatment and it’s clear that results vary and benefits may be temporary but I am enjoying it as I am beginning to notice some changes, and yes, part of it is mental. For one, I really enjoy blocking out this hour knowing that my body is getting some attention without much effort on my part. There is also the relaxation aspect, which I have come to look forward to.

Physically, my stomach feels less bloated, which is definitely encouraging. I also find that having committed to these sessions, I am making a more conscious effort to eat better and approach my workouts with more intention. Knowing that I am doing something extra to support my progress has made me more committed to the whole process. It all seems to be working together, and five sessions in, I am happy with how things are going.
