The Spaniel offers a nostalgic British dining experience in Bluewaters Dubai.
With its chic countryside-inspired décor, The Spaniel has a charming, nostalgic feel. Rich wood furnishings, soft leather seating and classic mosaic patterns create a cosy and inviting atmosphere.
The menu sticks to British classics, with everything from a traditional Sunday roast to sticky toffee pudding. Expect familiar dishes that are all about hearty portions and proper comfort food.
We started with the crisp and refreshing Stilton and Walnut Salad, combining chicory and pear with a drizzle of Hatta honey. We happily paired it with the piping hot homemade bread and garlic butter.
Although we were tempted by the Scotch Egg, we decided on the very moreish Tiger Prawn Scampi, served with tartare sauce and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Quite honestly, we came for the Fish & Chips served with a side of Mushy Peas and Tartare Sauce, and it exceeded all expectations. The perfectly battered fish was crispy on the outside and flaky and tender inside, the side of chips, peas and sauce were the perfect accompaniment and we were very quick to finish every last bite.
Our second main, the Beef Wellington for two, served with Mashed Potatoes, Horseradish Sauce, and Dripping Sauce, took its time to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. This show-stopping dish was both wholesome and satisfying—the crispy, golden pastry enveloping the tender, juicy beef truly won us over!
It would be rude to leave without trying the Sticky Toffee Pudding, with its soft sponge and rich toffee sauce. We thought we’d stop at one bite, but somehow the plate was wiped clean.
The Spaniel serves classic British favourites with their own unique twist-and quite frankly, it works!
