Moli by Shi is the latest Chinese restaurant to open in the buzzing Dubai Hills district of Dubai. The name MOLI,” which translates to “jasmine” in Chinese, carries rich symbolism associated with purity, grace, and femininity, enveloping guests in a sense of luxury and elegance from the moment they arrive. Admired for its enchanting fragrance, MOLI stands as a cherished selection for connoisseurs of traditional Chinese perfumes and teas, embodying a perfect synthesis of timeless beauty and simplicity.

Upon stepping into the restaurant, guests are met by traditional architectural elements reminiscent of a Chinese temple. Walls adorned with traditional carvings create a captivating backdrop, while plush banquettes adorned with intricate Chinese artwork set the table for a sumptuous dining experience. As evening falls, the centre floor lights up a gentle glow, casting a magical ambiance for elegant dinners. Above, the ceiling is adorned with large hanging jasmine flowers, providing soft and ambient lighting.

On the menu, the main dishes and appetisers take centre stage presenting an expansive selection of meat, poultry and seafood entrees that transport guests to a culinary splendour. Among these offerings are caramelised seabass with black truffle, sea cucumber with magi yaki sauce, jambal prawn, and kongbao belt fish, wok braised lamb ribs, coffee soft beef ribs, cornfed chicken with morel mushroom, and crispy curry chicken. The menu has been crafted by the talented Chef Li who also curates the menus for SHI and is a firm fixture of the Shi family.

We tried the crispy duck salad which was definitely our favorite dish of the night. Next was the lobster dim sum and the dragon fruit tiger prawns that are both filling and moreish. In the mains the dan dan Chilean sea bass is another popular dish.

The desserts selection is a is a delightful array that includes The Lucky Cat, a cat-shaped treat filled with yuzu cream, nashi pear, and dulce de leche crumbs; the Mandarin Baba, a soft mandarin brioche, vanilla, and honeycomb tuille; and the Flower of the Five Wonders, a decadent chocolate cake with passion fruit, vanilla ice cream, complemented by Jasmine tea sauce.
