Izu is a cozy bakery and brasserie offering a simple Italian menu.
We were recently invited to Izu Brasserie in City Walk. Located within Le BHV Marais, it is split into two spaces-bakery and brasserie. Both areas have the same style aesthetic-rustic decor, high ceilings and an open kitchen. It has a welcoming and cozy decor ideal for small groups.
The menu boasts Mediterranean and Italian favorites and has plenty of options. We began with a refreshing artichoke salad with grapefruit, organge, Kalamata olives and rocket (50 AED). The roasted tomato and feta starter (50 AED) was perfect with the homemade bread.
The pizza toppings were too tempting to resist and we ended up with two for the table-mixed vegetables and then also buffalo mozzarella with anchovy and fried capers. Piping hot and freshly baked in the wood fire oven, we enjoyed them both but were more partial towards the anchovy and capers topping.
The chef also sent out the sweet potato ravioli with prawns (75 AED) for us to try. A hearty portion with indulgent buttery prawns, we will order it again.
Izu is the perfect place to stop by with friends and family to enjoy an intimate sharing meal or then a sweet bite with coffee.
