An invitation to experience a 3-night stay at Chiva-Som was a privilege that we were very excited to accept. Located 185 km south of Bangkok in Hua Hin, one of Thailand’s most famous beach resorts, Chiva-Som is a beachfront property, nestled within seven acres of lush tropical gardens.
Opened 21 years ago, it is a world-renowned health and wellness resort that has consistently won prestigious accolades and awards for its services and food. Chiva-Som is the “Haven of Life” that offers luxurious accommodation comprising of 54 stylish rooms; Thai Pavilions offer traditional charm and Ocean View rooms and suites provide spectacular views of the Gulf of Thailand.
In addition to 70 treatment rooms, the resort facilities comprise a kinesis studio, gym, watsu pool, flotation pool, large outdoor swimming pool, bathing pavilion with kneipp bath, sauna, steam, jacuzzi, and indoor swimming pool.
The staff at Chiva-Som consists of expert health professionals and includes consulting doctors, naturopaths, fitness instructors, spa therapists, nutritionists and alternative health practitioners.
Upon arrival, the check-in is very swift and once settled in the room the first stop is a complimentary Health and Wellness consultation. This is designed around individual goals and objectives, current state of health and ability to achieve those goals. The advisor will help each guest achieve the most out of their stay by devising a personal program of treatments and services including diet, exercise, activity, rest and relaxation, physical ailments, emotional issues and your inner self.
There is an entire list of classes and activities guests can join throughout the day along with one massage. We tried everything from Tai Chi, meditation, stretching, pilates and aquaaerobics.
Chiva-Som offers award-winning cuisine at its two restaurants. The food is healthy and comes with a detailed description of the calories. The choice is endless and everything is organic and carefully sourced-we were seriously obsessed with the Thai cuisine at The Taste of Siam and the international breakfast at the Emerald Room. The food is exploding with flavor and it is hard to believe that something so healthy can really taste that good.
Chiva-Som is a peaceful and zen retreat that offers every guest a total lifestyle transformation to achieve wellness and longevity with a full range of health and wellness treatments.
As a solo traveller, Chiva-Som was one of the most refreshing and rejuvenating experiences. It is the ideal place to simply switch off (there are no electronics allowed outside the room) and solely focus on mind, body and spirit.
