Tucked into the heart of Jumeirah Village Circle, Woodish is a pet-friendly neighbourhood café that we recently discovered. The brightly lit space is calm, comfortable and offers a dedicated work-friendly corner with fast WiFi-a freelancer’s dream It’s a great spot to bring your dog for an outing or pitch up with a laptop for a couple of hours.
Woodish has quickly gained a reputation for serving excellent coffee in the area. The speciality coffee here takes centre stage without overwhelming with information on origin and methods. Whether it’s a well-pulled espresso, a smooth flat white, a Spanish latte or a simple Americano, refills are just AED 5—reason enough to stay a little longer.
Boasting an all-day menu, this is one of those rare spots that’s open from morning to night—and actually good throughout. The wholesome dishes are focused around feel-good food, fresh ingredients.
One of our favourites on the menu is the warm, comforting Turkish eggs—think garlicky yoghurt, soft poached eggs, sourdough and a side of extra protein with chicken sausages.
Dubai is filled to the brim with great açai bowls on every corner, and Woodish’s is easily one of the best. Their signature açai bowl is generously sized and topped with fresh fruit—it’s almost too pretty to eat.
The super-tasty homemade granola yoghurt bowl is creamy and crunchy, topped with fresh berries and a generous dollop of butter—an absolute treat.
For a more filling main, the salmon and mash speaks for itself—the perfectly seared fish is served with buttery smooth mash, roasted asparagus and finished with a herby tarragon sauce. It’s one of those dishes you don’t forget.
