Gangnam is an authentic Korean restaurant in Dubai.
We adore Korean food, from the colourful plates of kimchi to the barbecue, we enjoy it all. Â Although we already have a few favourite Korean haunts in Dubai, we were eager to try out one that came highly recommended by a fellow foodie.
Slightly tricky to find if you aren’t familiar with the area, Gangnam is tucked away close to Lamcy Plaza. Â The decor is simple and each table has its own private booth. Â The menu is extensive and the serves are friendly and willing to help if you are a newbie when it comes to Korean cuisine.
Soon after we placed our order the table was filled up with an array of highly-fermented, piquant kimchi that kept us busy till the rest of the food arrived. Â The Bulgogi (60 AED) was tender meat served with vegetables-although we usually prefer it to be more spicy, it still hit the spot.
The star of the night were the Marinate Short Ribs (90 AED).  The raw meat was brought over to our table and cooked on the gas stove in the centre of the table.  The server took charge and made sure it was perfectly cooked (we requested medium).  We enjoyed the first round so much that we went ahead and placed a second order that we also polished off.
Although quite full we couldn’t help but wow over what came next. Â The Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup (50 AED) was a richly-coloured, hearty dish with a generous serving of seafood. Â An aromatic and fiery broth it is also worth a try.
At the end of the meal we went home full, satisfied and glad we made the trek over to try it out. Â So, next time we are craving Korean food in Dubai, Gangnam will definitely be a top contender.
