TRY HOMEGROWN FOOD IN DUBAI AT TASTE KITCHEN

Taste Kitchen serves Modern European food in a relaxed setting at Mercato Mall in Jumeirah.

We can’t help but get excited at the idea of the new wave of local homegrown restaurants that is sweeping Dubai. The latest addition is Taste Kitchen by Nick and Scott who are well-known Chefs in Dubai. As much as we avoid dining in a mall, there is something appealing about Taste Kitchen. Hidden away inside a quiet corner of Mercato Mall, it is flooded with natural light and space. The casual decor is appealing and gives the place a relaxed ambience.

Although it opens bright and early for breakfast, we tried out the all-day menu that is served from 12pm and is an eclectic range of items to pick from-pizzas, mains and even a trio of jars and toast.

Our goat’s cheese, walnut and endive salad had the perfect balance of textures and flavors with the crunchy endive and soft cheese (although we do prefer our goat’s cheese a bit stronger), the sweet dressing added a delicious flavor. The couscous salad was very moist and is large enough to be a main as it is very filling.

The simple pizza combination of mozzarella, basil and tomato was perfectly executed on top of the thin and crispy pizza base. Our personal favorite dish albeit greasy, was the grilled courgette served with some sharp cheese, deep-fried polenta pieces and fresh rocket.
