From steamed baos to tuna tataki-they have it all!
Boldly Asian is tucked away at Fairmont The Palm. As the name suggests, this quintessential Asian restaurant offers some of the tastiest dishes from China, Japan, Korea and Thailand. We popped in there for dinner and couldn’t help but first pose in their hallway filled with hanging lanterns and large mirrors. Did we mention the life-size tiger sculptures that are stunning pieces of art and of course, perfect for a photo op!
The menu is a mix of Asian favorites with everything from sushi, ramen to duck springs rolls and kung pao chicken. It is split into different sections making it easy to navigate and pick a few items from each. We saw so many of our favourite dishes that we really struggled to decide what we wanted.
We began with king crab tacos with spicy mayo and a refreshing slaw-crunchy and delicious, we resisted ordering a second round. The Prawn Toast are golden and gloriously crunchy on the outside, with a juicy prawn filling that makes it impossible to stop at one piece. For some extra spice, the homemade chilli sauce is divine!
There is a large selection of sushi and we weren’t disappointed with our dragon roll and tempura lobster roll. Both platters were beautifully presented and tasted even better. If you are a sushi and sashimi fan, then it is worth coming here just for that.
We also shared the Hanoi Pho-an earthy, aromatic broth, with tender braised beef brisket, silky rice noodles and fresh Thai basil.Â
In the mains the The Miso Cod was tender, buttery fish that practically melted in the mouth. Passion fruit crisps added a little sweetness and crunch, while the charred spring onions brought a lovely smoky finish.
The Black Pepper Beef was another favourite, with tender Australian beef, broccoli and bell peppers coated in a rich, peppery sauce with just the right amount of heat.
We finished with the Warm Chocolate Torte, rich and indulgent, with a dusting of matcha, creamy vanilla ice cream and crunchy honeycomb.
BA-Boldly Asian offers a wonderful dining experience ideal for a night out when you are craving Asian comfort food. There are so many dishes we still want to try here and we can’t wait to be back soon!
