Milena Aesthetics Clinic is the go-to destination for all things beauty. I have been going back frequently to their serene JBR outpost, where they exclusively offer all skin and body treatments, for all my skincare needs. It got my stamp of approval after I tried the relaxing yet effective cleansing facial, and I’ve been coming back for more treatments ever since.

The team had recommended the Forma Facial, a non-invasive treatment that uses radio frequency to target the deep layers of the skin. After completing two sessions, I can already notice the difference on my skin.

A fairly quick treatment, it begins with a thorough cleansing of the face. Once that is done, the therapist applies a thick layer of gel on the face and then gets to work with a metal radio frequency device that uses different frequencies of energy to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

A Forma treatment typically takes less than 30 minutes per treatment area and you can expect to experience a tolerable heat and occasional pricking sensation-it is nothing to really worry about. The therapist treats the full face and I request her to focus more on the jawline and the cheekbones-to get that contour effect. The cool gel helps to not only help the device glide seamlessly but also keeps the heat sensation at bay. The machine decreases and increases in temperature as it works on each area. Although I did feel a little more heat on the forehead, it was completely bearable as it didn’t last very long.

What I love best is that there is typically no downtime post-treatment, and the skin may appear flushed for a few hours, but once that settles, you can be out and about.

It is recommended to do 6-8 sessions a week apart for the best and long-lasting results, however skin tightening is visible from the first session itself. Making this the best treatment before a special occasion.

The number of treatments and the gap between treatments also depends on the skin condition and elasticity and for me personally I am able to leave a gap of a few weeks each time between the treatments.

The added bonus at Athena is that the therapist is also trained to do facial massages and upon request she can also add that post treatment. I feel like this helps to further boost the results and who doesn’t love a relaxing face massage!

I am continuing the Forma Facial treatments and looking forward to the long-term results of firmer, tighter skin!
