A complete reset for scalp, hair and mind at FŌM Hygge SPA.
Stepping into a mall is rarely a relaxing experience, but FŌM Hygge Spa at Nad Al Sheba Mall feels far removed from the bustle outside. The space is minimal and pared back, with a soothing simplicity that immediately sets the tone. It’s the kind of place where you start to unwind before the treatment has even begun.
The treatment menu includes an extensive hair and scalp offering, with each treatment tailored to what your scalp actually needs, from hydration and nourishment to a thorough cleanse and refresh. Think of it as a facial for your scalp. The 45-minute treatments go well beyond the viral waterfall rinse and lymphatic massage, with a comprehensive multi-step process using a Korean scalp treatment machine.
Starting with a close-up camera analysis to help shape the treatment, mine focused on tackling a particularly dry scalp. A combination of oils and serums, made in-house and selected for my specific hair and scalp concerns, was worked in alongside gentle exfoliation. The state-of-the-art machine uses a fine mist to help with deeper product absorption, while LED light therapy and a soothing head, neck and shoulder massage are worked into the 45-minute treatment. Every step felt purposeful rather than simply part of the head-spa ritual.
Finally, after a thorough wash and conditioning, came the viral Korean-style waterfall halo rinse, adding to the overall relaxation. My scalp was then re-analysed and the difference was impressive.
The treatment finished with a blow-dry (this is not included and comes at an extra cost), and I left with my hair looking and feeling better than it had in a long time. The number of compliments I received afterwards said it all.
There’s something about this immersive head spa experience that takes pampering a step further. Whether your scalp needs some attention or you simply want to switch off, I’d happily choose this over a regular hair treatment.
