The choice of restaurants and cuisine in Dubai is vast – but every now and again, we crave something simple and tasty that reminds us of home. So when we stumbled upon Tubers Gourmet Baked Potatoes, based in Dubai Marina, we couldn’t wait to order…
The menu has a tempting array of fillings for the potatoes – from fancy Salmon Mousse, to Fusion Thai Basil, to classic Baked Beans. The potatoes, of course, are the stars of each dish – and they didn’t disappoint in the slightest. They are cooked until the skin is crispy golden brown, with soft, fluffy insides. Once ready, they are seasoned with butter, salt, and pepper for a warm, comforting, and tasty lunch or dinner.
Our order of Chilli Con Carne and Cheddar definitely met our high expectations. Chunky pieces of ground beef were mixed with kidney beans and topped with tasty sharp cheddar – all for 25 AED. The traditional Tuna and Corn (18 AED) was just as appetizing; fresh tuna mixed with mayonnaise and sweet corn for a mixture that was both sweet and tangy.
There are delivery options available to the Marina and surrounding areas. Pick up the phone and order when you’re having a rough day and want some good old-fashioned comfort food. Tubers isn’t going to win a Michelin Star, but this Dubai twist on a quintessential British dinner is perfect for a quiet night chilling on the sofa.
