When it comes to Asian food we have one firm favorite, Zheng He’s in Mina A’Salam. This sophisticated modern Chinese is family-friendly and the ideal place to take guests from abroad.
The venue is inspired by the historical Chinese explorer Zheng He, offering an eclectic and authentic Chinese-style menu with seafood as a focal point. There is both outdoor and indoor seating with panoramic views of the Mina A’Salam lagoon and Burj Al Arab.
We recently headed back here to try the new menu, designed by Chef Lai Min Wei. The variety is enough to please every palette and includes dishes like Peking duck, blue lobster dumplings with caviar and lemongrass sauce and wok-fried udon noodles with Chef’s special homemade X.O. sauce.
The prawn crackers kept us satisfied while we browsed the menu and waited for the food. We began with a dim sum platter-a variety of scallop, prawn, sea bass and wagyu beef. Delicately steamed and unique in taste, it was hard to pick one firm favorite. The deep fried soft shell crab was crispy and perfectly seasoned-we dipped it in the homemade chili sauce for some extra heat.
In the mains, we loved the brightly colored dish of king prawn with cashew nut, dried chilli and Sichuan pepper. The wok fried black angus rib eye with black pepper sauce was tender and juicy. Since we wanted something green the wok fried kai lan satisfied our cravings.
Zheng He’s offers the best of the flavors from the Far East in a stunning setting. It is the perfect place to enjoy a top quality meal with friends and family.
