Hayal serves traditional Turkish delicacies in a cozy setting.
We recently headed over to an authentic Turkish restaurant located at the Hayal at the St Regis Downtown Dubai. ‘Hayal’ is a Turkish word used to describe daydreams and daydreaming. And as the name promises; guests at Hayal will be immersed in a unique, and deeply creative dining experience.
Located on the Mezzanine floor, the venue features a lush, colorful and artsy decor. The cozy setting has Turkish lamps and other decor that really transport you to the energetic and colorful city.
With stunning panoramic views over the iconic Dubai Water canal and the dramatic downtown Dubai skyline, the venue features an open kitchen that we enjoyed observing from the comfort of our table.
We began with a mezze of hummus, mutabal and cig kofta. This mix of refreshing starters went perfectly with the piping hot sourdough bread that we tore apart and used to scoop up the tasty spreads.
This was followed by a fresh out of the oven, spinach pide. A meal on its own, we wiped the dish clean, without any hesitation!
In the mains our table was filled with a selection of meat and fish. The wood fired sea bream that was almost too pretty to eat. The classic shish tawouk was tender and juicy but it was the lamb loin that really won us over. Each of these perfectly executed dishes was not only aesthetically pleasing but was also accompanied with sauces that were unique in flavors and texture.
We rounded up this fantastic meal with a classic knafeh with Turkish tea.
