AN EGG-CELLENT PLACE TO START THE DAY

Around The Block offers a wholesome and hearty breakfast menu that is worth waiting in line for!

Since its opening in 2019, Around The Block, a homegrown cafe concept synonymous with its love for high-quality, handcrafted specialty coffee and international dishes infused with familiar flavors has grown to three locations-Al Khawaneej Walk, Wasl 51, and House of Wisdom, Sharjah. We are regulars at the Al Wasl spot where you will find us bright and early working away on our laptops.

They have recently introduced a new menu filled with globally inspired dishes and have also partnered with a local roastery to bring us an amazing new coffee selection. We recently headed back to Wasl 51 to try the latest offerings and as always we were met warmly by the barista and servers. As it was early in the morning, we desperately needed coffee and the expertly brewed flat white with Brazil beans really hit the spot. In fact it was so good that we immediately ordered a second cup each!

For breakfast we were spoilt with the myriad of choices and after much deliberation we picked a few of the house favorites. There is no going wrong with the Wild Mushroom Truffle Toast with scrambled eggs, ricotta, and chives. Another dish worth seeking out is the aromatic Turkish Eggs featuring poached eggs, herbed yogurt, soujuk, and chili oil on sourdough. Once we wiped our plates clean we shared a stack of Hot Ricotta Pancakes, served with honeycomb butter and caramelized banana-an absolute winner!

Around The Block skillfully presents a perfect blend of classic favorites and inventive combinations. We will be back soon to try more dishes on the menu. What truly sets Around The Block apart is not just the exceptional menu but also the warm and friendly approach of its staff-they are all friendly and efficient.
