The stomach-warming and aromatic homemade food at Vietnamese Foodies is truly addictive.

If you have been in Dubai for more than just a few years, then you may have been following Lily, a Vietnamese chef who started by offering cooking workshops on Facebook and then went on to open Vietnamese Foodies. Her first restaurant outpost was in the cozy JLT neighborhood where we remember patiently lining up to try her fabled Pho. Over the years as her popularity grew, she also expanded across several districts in Dubai.  As big fans of her version of that authentic Vietnamese food, we still remain loyal.

From JLT, Timeout Market, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Hills and Damac Hills, they also have an outpost at Nakheel Mall. We recently headed there to go enjoy the food, we love so much!

The restaurant is also cozy despite being inside a bustling mall and it definitely reminds us of the original branch in JLT. As lovers of Vietnamese food, we ordered Pho, their national dish of noodle soup.  We picked Pho Bo Chin, a beef noodle soup cooked traditionally up to 14 hours.  The dish was complemented by a colorful array of chillies, lemon, beansprouts and basil leaves beside the traditional hoisin sauce and chilli sauce.   It was hearty and zingy and we can’t wait to go back for more.

The Goi Du Du Tom-Green Papaya and Prawn Salad had the perfect balance of flavors and was sweet and savory with a crunchy texture.  Another winner on the menu.

From the Chef’s Signature dishes we picked COM GA KEP SA-Lemongrass Grilled Chicken Rice with Seasonal Stir-Fried Vegetable. The chicken was cooked to perfect and the vegetables had just the right amount of crunch.

The food is exactly how we remembered it, in fact even better!

Vietnamese Foodies has grown over the years but this homegrown brand still has that charming neighborhood eatery vibe with food made from the heart.
