An alternative take on the usual weekend brunch scene, the first wellbeing resort in Dubai, The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery invited us to experience the brunch with the ultimate detoxifying afternoon for the body, mind and soul.
The brand new Detox Brunch at Vibe restaurant occurs weekly, every Saturday, the ideal time to recover and rejuvenate after a long week at work or a Friday night out.
It is an extensive buffet-style spread, that is completely wholesome and includes meat, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan and paleo varieties.
The herbs are all from the garden on the property and the nutrition-rich salads and Buddha bowls are all served with a variety of homemade dressings. The vegan cheese spread is also worth a stop.
You can appease your classic weekend brunch cravings at the breakfast corner, or then if you are curious about the paleo diet then there is the home curing factory with several kinds of meat and fish.
Pescatarians will find a delightful spread at the sea surf station featuring crab, mussels, Fin de Claire oysters and a wide variety of freshly rolled sushi and sahsimi.
The line of hearty main dishes including Asian curries and quinoa biryani are wholesome and filling.
There is a vegan rainbow burger cart serving lentil or quinoa sweet potato patties with activated charcoal or beetroot buns, with nutty avocado spread.
Just because you are eating healthy doesn’t mean you will be deprived of dessert. We enjoyed homemade ice cream, raw fruit based desserts and especially the banana bread.
We quite enjoyed the refreshing spread of cold pressed juices, smoothies and naturally infused water.
If you will be bringing kids along, there is a dedicated kids’ corner with healthy options.
The detox doesn’t have to end once the meal is over, in fact guests are encouraged to try the fitness and wellness activities at the property’s Wellness Lounge such as laughter yoga, pilates, fitness exercises and relaxation sessions to choose from.
If you want something more relaxing there pick the brunch and pool package, as it allows access to the resorts infinity pool.
There is also a pop-up market filled organic and natural products, vegan skin care, homemade soaps, organic cosmetics and more.
Priced at AED 299 for food, beverages and wellness activities and AED 349 for food, beverages wellness activities and pool access. Valid until December 15, the resort offers a limited time only two-for-one on the brunch. Children below the ages of six are free of charge, and those aged between six and twelve can brunch at a special price of AED 75.
