Cafe Belge is a 1920’s style café located in the heart of Dubai.
When it comes to cafes in Dubai, we have one firm favorite. It is of course, Cafe Belge at The Ritz Carlton DIFC. The décor is classic and sophisticated-expect to be transferred straight back to the forgotten era, with fine marble and wood furnishings. It has a distinct air of glamour that we absolutely adore. The 1920’s style inspired cafe has now been around for a while and we always love returning there for more.
Although there are a variety of dishes on the menu, we always love their combination of Moules (Mussels) and Frites. The star dish is served in a large enamel pot accompanied by a side of homemade frites and freshly baked bread. The moules are fresh and delicate and have always exceeded our expectations. The sauce is succulent and flavorful while the fries dipped in the mayonnaise added more depth and richness. The dish is always hearty and wholesome and we savored every last bite.
The Asparagus a la Flamande is essentially, the queen of vegetables served in a very innovative and delicious manner. The tomato and grey shrimps is a warm dish exploding with coastal flavors. The other must-have is of course the Cafe Belge Wagyu Burger that is a perfect patty and comes with caramelized endives and tomato confit.
Feeling indulgent we ordered the classic Belgium dessert, Dame Blanche. A warm molten cake served with a side of whipped cream-it was luscious and delicious. The Belgian waffles are also a firm favorite and definitely one to order if you are into them..
This café has not only got the food right but the ambience is also great. It is one of those places we always return to and are never disappointed.
