A FRESH TAKE ON WHOLESOME FOOD AT THIS HOMEGROWN GEM IN D3

PEOPLES Honest Eatery & Coffee is a community-driven dining concept located in Dubai Design District (D3).

There’s always a certain buzz when a new neighbourhood spot opens-especially in a place like D3, known for its creative energy and homegrown businesses. People’s Honest Eatery is the latest to land in the neighbourhood-and it fits right in. It’s the kind of place that feels instantly familiar: relaxed, stylish, and built with the community in mind. Locals chatting over lunch, staff who love what they do-it’s a fun new addition to a neighbourhood that keeps getting more exciting.

The interiors are stylish yet effortless-lots of natural light streaming in through big windows that give the space a bright, airy vibe. Green plants are dotted throughout and the wood-fired pizza oven is a show-stopper. The polished finishes and clean lines meet comfortable seating, muted colour palettes, and touches of warmth that make you want to linger.

The menu is broad enough to keep everyone happy (including vegans, with an impressive plant-based selection). We began with wild mushroom arancino-crispy, umami-packed, it was gone in minutes. Their most popular burrata pizza is a thing of beauty: burrtata cheese, tomato and pesto sauce. The vegan pizza is anything but ordinary-they don’t use any lazy shortcuts-layering olives, zucchini, artichoke, avocado paste, pine nuts and basil leaves-creating a knockout combination.

Diners can expect hearty plates like handmade pastas, pistachio crusted salmon, premium rib-eye steak and Peruvian-style chicken (a must-try!).

These hearty dishes are also combined with lighter, fresh dishes like the memorable salmon tartare and seabass ceviche. All the dishes are generous enough to share, so it was easy for us to get carried away and over-order. We even found the ‘sharing bites’, to be surprisingly filling, so proceed with caution. Do, however, leave room for the homemade pappardelle with beef ragu- a simple dish done right, and the texture of the homemade pasta was just impeccable.

At the heart of the concept is the specialty coffee menu, where beans are roasted in-house for expertly crafted brews, from V60 and Cuban Shot to specialty cold brews and iced lattes. We had copious amounts of coffee made from our favourite Brazil beans. We paired our last coffee with an indulgent chocolate brownie.
