A combination of the desert heat outdoors and arctic temperatures indoors is bad news for our skin, leaving it dull and dehydrated. So when we heard that the Manchester MedSpa on Jumeirah Beach Road were offering customized Hydration Facials (595 AED each) to replace lost moisture and repair damage, we couldn’t wait to try it.
The appointment begins with a detailed consultation to analyze skin type and problem areas, before the treatment gets underway with a deep cleanse and thorough exfoliation. If your skin is congested with stubborn blackheads or whiteheads, this will be followed by steam and extraction – not the most enjoyable part of any facial, but comfortable enough and essential for leaving skin clean, clear and balanced.
A Fruit Acid Peel (selected to suit your skin type) will then be applied. The peel removes the outer, dead layer of skin cells that are often damaged in harsh climates like Dubai, revealing smoother, more radiant skin beneath it. Once skin is cleansed, the Esthetician will apply Hyaluronic Acid – a natural substance that is found in all living organisms, which plumps and hydrates the complexion.
The massage that concludes the treatment is both relaxing and very soothing. And once you have roused yourself from the comfortable treatment bed, the Esthetician will recommend diet changes and a suitable date for your next facial (this will vary according to your skin type).
After just 80 relaxing minutes, we stepped out of the MedSpa with a complexion that felt fresher and better hydrated, and boasted a natural, radiant glow. We will definitely be back…
