We love the luxurious Hammam treatment (click here to find out more about our favorite one).  But let’s face it, the entire ritual takes a few hours and of course its expensive.  So, we want a more affordable alternative that we can do ourselves.  In our quest to replicate the Hammam at home, we have discovered ‘Beldi Black’ Moroccan Soap (69 AED).

This simple black soap also originates from Morocco and it can be used at home in the shower or bath.  Made with olive oil, argan oil and eucalyptus is its 100% natural.  There are no parabens, synthetic colors, fragrance or preservatives-so it can’t get more pure than this!  Oh and it is suitable for all skin types.

When you go for a professional Hammam treatment, it is the ‘beldi black’ that they apply to skin in order to prepare it for exfoliation.  Although it has a fairly thick and sticky consistency all you need to do is first make the skin wet with warm water and then apply the soap on the entire body (keep it away from your face!) in a circular motion.  Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then scrub it off with a glove.

This black soap provides great exfoliation and removes all the dead skin leaving the skin soft and supple.  Black soap will give you that Hammam experience (without the luxurious massage) right at home!
