CUT-PRICE FURNITURE AND SOUVENIRS

Antique Museum is located in the heart of Al Quoz and is a treasure trove filled with exotic and unique home decor items.

The name is misleading, as the Antique Museum is a colourful bazaar packed with knick-knacks and furniture from all over the world. Based in Al Quoz, it is so well hidden that it takes a little while to find it – but it is well worth the hunt if you have time on your hands and enjoy digging around for treasure.

Inside, the maze of passageways reminded us of Ali Baba’s cavern – dark, dusty, and crammed with a vast array of glittering trinkets. Alongside the antiques, we found bamboo bowls, plates, porcelain cups, Russian dolls, dream catchers (designed to catch bad dreams), wooden statues, and endless other decorative bits and pieces. All imported from India, Turkey, Southeast Asia, and other areas of the Middle East, this has to be one of the most unique places to browse and buy in Dubai.

We enjoyed rifling through the trinkets – but our eye was really drawn to the furniture in the second half of the premises. Hundreds of wooden pieces were piled up – both inside and outside – and there are some fabulous bargains to be snapped up. We loved the look of the wooden trunks and dark wooden cabinets – all a little sandy and dusty, but if you keep your eyes open and are ready to bargain, you can head home with some real gems.

International deliveries by boat are possible, but are subject to a minimum order charge.
