FREE ENTRY AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM ABU DHABI

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi celebrates International Museum Day with Free entry and hands-on experiences for all ages.

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will celebrate International Museum Day with free entry for all visitors from 16 to 18 May 2026, alongside a curated programme of interactive experiences for visitors of all ages, reinforcing its role as a space for learning and discovery that connect visitors with science in accessible and meaningful ways.

On 16 and 17 May, visitors can join drop-in workshops that explore light, creativity, and scientific discovery. These include Sun Printing, Light Lab: Colour & Shadow, and Constellation Light Lab, which introduce participants to the behaviour of light through hands-on experiments. The programme also features Shadow Safari and the Wiggly Creatures Workshop, which blend storytelling, performance, and creativity to help younger visitors see science in everyday life.

On 18 May, the museum presents a series of hands-on experiences and talks that offer visitors a closer look at how museums operate behind the scenes. In the Build a Mini Exhibit workshop, participants step into the role of curator, selecting specimens and designing their own displays while discovering how museums tell stories through objects and classification. The Meet the Scientists Series offers visitors a rare opportunity to come face to face with the specialists behind the museum’s world-class collection. The museum’s in-house scientists and resident experts open their doors to answer visitor questions, share their stories, and bring the science to life.

Visitors can follow the museum’s social media channels for registration details and updates.

Museum opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00am to 6:30pm, and Friday to Sunday from 10:00am to 8:30pm. For more information and updates, visit https://nhmad.ae and follow the museum’s social media channels.
