The Lighthouse is now open at Nakheel Mall.
One of our favorite go-to spots in town, The Lighthouse has a new outpost at Nakheel Mall. A welcome addition to Palm Jumeirah, the opening is in conjunction with their fifth anniversary celebration. Offering a more casual and family-friendly vibe, there is also a spacious terrace overlooking the park. Indoors is cozy and overlooks the pizza oven and bakery that is filled with all types of wholesome baked goods-from vegan breads to pastries, it prepared every morning.
For the first time at The Lighthouse, there is also a dedicated plant-based vegan menu with unusual dishes like a beet tartare and capsicum carpaccio. As we were there on a strangely cold afternoon, we decided to start with wholesome Green Super Bowl soup made with kale, broccoli, spinach and peas. We were quick to wipe the bowl clean with the basket of freshly made bread.
This was followed by Lentil Salad, that had a kick to it with the addition of pickled vegetables and hazelnuts. One of our favorite dishes the Grilled Prawns is on the menu here and we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite of it-the prawns are marinated in garlic and rosemary and served with Campaillou bread.
We couldn’t leave without putting their grand pizza oven to test and so after much deliberation on the toppings we went with the Truffle Pizza topped with mozzarella, roasted Portobello mushrooms, baby Rocca, truffle cream, truffle oil and fresh truffle shavings. The perfect way to end a fabulous meal!
The Lighthouse is also known for their concept store, and at this new outlet, there is an entire section dedicated to an array of niche beauty and lifestyle brands. It really is hard to leave without at least one item and this time, we picked up a few keychains and our favorite Malin and Goetz products.
