If your mother is a good cook, you will agree that there’s nothing more comforting than traditional, home-cooked food. Sadly, that doesn’t mean we always have time to knock something up in the kitchen – so it was a relief to discover a company in Dubai that will deliver fresh, homemade dishes to our door.
Casserole – meaning ‘saucepan’ in French – offers food that will instantly evoke memories of home. Better still, the prices are affordable, the presentation is impeccable, and the portions are perfectly judged. The menu is short, which it should be (never trust a menu with endless choices, as the quality will rarely meet expectations) and features traditional dishes from England, France, Italy, and India. This is the first company we’ve found to deliver traditional English dishes to our door, so it is something unique.
Our test started with Gazpacho soup, which was fresh and tasty. The Shepherd’s Pie that followed was exactly as we remember eating back in the UK – and the Crème Caramel, exactly like those we have eaten in France. It was the perfect authentic European combination!
Heating instructions are listed on the packaging. Each dish can be heated in traditional ovens or microwaves, so there is little hassle.
We will definitely be ordering again… Simple, fresh, and traditional – just the way we remember from home!
