THIS MEDITERRANEAN INSPIRED MEAL IS WORTH STEPPING OUT FOR

The Lighthouse serves up simple Mediterranean-inspired soul food with a nod to Middle Eastern ingredients.

As we carefully begin to venture out we want to make sure we support local homegrown businesses. One of our first stops has been The Lighthouse in D3 which has reopened its doors and is ready to welcome back diners and shoppers (we LOVE their curated retail section!).

We were invited to try their Sail The Med set dinner menu available throughout September. A simple three-course Mediterranean-inspired menu with a nod to Middle Eastern ingredients – alongside an affordable drinks list.  If like us, you haven’t really eaten out all these months, picking a single dish from each section will prove tougher than you imagined.

The starters include everything from a light lentil salad to roasted beets. We decided to try baked feta with oregano, paprika, Turkish chilli and Cretan honey, served with pita bread-this moreish dish was one we can’t stop thinking about!

Our friends know that when we see fried calamari on a menu, we just have to try it-their version came topped with chilli, paprika and lime and a smoky homemade sauce.

The seafood risotto with prawns, calamari in a basil-infused tomato sauce and pistachios is a robust dish that will transport you straight to the seaside. If you want something more wholesome and comforting then the rigatoni with mushrooms in a cream sauce is a top pick.

The best way to roundup a delightful meal like this is with the light and airy passionfruit and yuzu cheesecake.

It is heartwarming to see some of our favorite local haunts get back to business safely and cautiously. Throughout the evening our server and the rest of the staff followed all the official safety guidelines and we felt absolutely safe and comfortable.
