THE STORY BEHIND THIS RESTAURANT IS AS CHARMING AS THE PLACE ITSELF

Carine at the Emirates Golf Club is a celebration of love.

Chef Izu has done it again! We associate his name with some of our favourite spots in town including The Lighthouse, La Serre and La Petite Maison and Izu Brasserie & Bakery, and now he has opened carine as a tribute to his wife, Carine. An ode to his love for her, the restaurant reflects it through her personal favoruites-from freshly baked breads inspired by the bakery she used to work in in Northern France, to her own homemade plum and apple jam.

Located in the Emirates Golf Club it overlooks the golf course. Inside the decor has that quintessential French charm. In the cooler months the outdoor terrace will be open and we can’t wait to enjoy the fabulous views of the Dubai skyline.

As guests of the restaurant, we decided to let the Chef surprise us with the food and it was probably the best decision of the night. We began with the simple yet impressive grilled harissa prawns (55 AED). The sautéed prawns were bathed in an earthy red sauce that we dipped the freshly baked homemade bread in and quickly wiped the dish clean. The apple, green beans and foie gras salad with walnuts (65 AED) was fresh and a winning combination of textures and flavours. Of course, the burrata with marinated peppers (65 AED) is that perfect dreamy summer dish that you must order.

In the mains, we adored the luxurious and creamy seafood risotto with pistachios (110 AED), but it was the delicately roasted filet of seabass (145 AED) with a light tomato sauce and sumac rice that totally won us over. For those in the mood for something more meaty and wholesome, the Marinated lamb cutlets with pita bread and spiced aubergine (155 AED), will not only satisfy your current cravings but will have you coming back for more!

Once we wrapped up the savory part of the meal, we were ready for the dessert experience. The passion fruit cheesecake (45 AED) is an absolute treat, but it was the molten brownie topped with a marshmallow and a side anglaise cream that won the battle of the desserts.

A combination of thoughtfully sourced ingredients, expertly executed dishes, attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere, our experience at carine was simply delightful. We have already booked a spot for their weekend breakfast that we were told is the best one outside of France!
