YOU CAN’T GO WRONG WITH THE BRUNCH AFFAIR AT BARBARY

The Brunch Affair is a Sumptuous Feast with Unlimited Beverage for Only AED 299 per person.

The brainchild of Montreal gastropreneur, Joey Ghazal, Barbary is tucked away in the heart of Barsha Heights. We were recently invited to experience The Brunch Affair, hosted over the weekends from 12pm-5pm.

Once we pushed open the heavy metal door and climbed up the dark stairwell, we were completely surprised by the opulent 1930s Parisian bars inspired decor. The wooden floorboards, cushy mid-century inspired sofas, checkered terrazzo tiles, red velvet curtains, crystal chandeliers and dim lace lamps-the parlor style setting is effortlessly chic.

A sharing concept, once settled our table quickly filled up with some of the most tempting brunch dishes including steak tartare with matchstick fries and a chipotle dressing, Montreal poutine (the best we have had outside Canada), decadent French toast (that we kept eating till the end of our meal), deli platter and bread with homemade jams.

If we were to be honest, this spread itself was enjoyable and filling enough for us, but there was still more to come!

The mains are individual orders-although let us warn you the servings are generous enough to easily share.

We ordered the Barbary shakshouka-a delightful take on the dish, it consisted of two poached eggs, meatballs and a flavorful red sauce. The buttermilk pancakes with ricotta, poached peaches, pistachio crumble and drizzled with Canadian maple syrup.

We didn’t have any more room left after but did somehow manage to still take a bite of the decadent cheesecake that was the grand finale.

The Barbary brunch is a casual yet charming experience ideal for that weekend hang with friends.

The Brunch Affair is priced at 299 Per person and takes place on the weekend from 12pm-5pm
