FROM NEW ORLEANS, WITH LOVE

When we heard whispers about a chef from New Orleans serving authentic Cajun food, a cuisine heavily influenced by the Caribbean spices and flavours, we couldn’t get there fast enough.

Upon our arrival inside the spacious yet cozy new restaurant, we loved the relaxed vibe with an American Jazz band playing live music throughout the night-our personal favorite was the soothing tunes of the Saxophone. 

The quickest way to get familiar with Cajun food is to pick the Baked Brie En Croute- cheese wrapped inside a layer of golden puff pastry topped with a sweet pecan praline sauce, spiced apples and roasted garlic.  Indulgent and flavorful it’s the only way to start the meal.

Although Jambalaya is probably the most-well known dish from the region, we had been tipped off in advance about the legendary Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles-the Chef’s special that we just had to order.  A combination of crispy golden fried chicken accompanied with sweet syrup laden waffles-definitely a winner.

Although very full, we weren’t going to skip out on the dessert.  Our order of Bananas Foster Pain Perdu was a classic dish slightly modified with that extra Southern love, a deliciously decadent and satisfying way to end the meal.

Cravin’ Cajun serves a rich medley of sweet and savory flavors and textures balanced together-it is comfort food at its absolute best with of course soulful Jazz music that transports you right into the heart of New Orleans.
