Etihad Museum gives you an insight into the history of the UAE.
Have you been on the search for a museum in Dubai? You can now revisit the rich past of the country, at The Etihad Museum. The state-of-the-art facility offers visitors a chance to understand and walk through the entire history of the UAE.
Inaugurated in January 2017, the museum collects, preserves, and displays the heritage of the UAE through social, political, cultural, scientific, and military history. Visitors are given an insight into the foundation of phase the UAE. There is a collection of historic items including old passports and other rare artefacts that include stamps and letters.
The impressive structure is located on the historical 2nd December Street, near the original Union House where the historical treaty to establish the country was signed. Covering 2.5 hectares, it is designed in the shape of a manuscript, with seven columns built into the museum to resemble the pens used to sign the original declaration. The building has eight permanent pavilions.
Pavilion One:Â Will show a documentary film about the history of the UAE.
Pavilion Two: Will house a panoramic interactive map highlighting the era before the formation of the federation.
Pavilion Three:Â An interactive timeline that demonstrates key historical events before the union.
Pavilion Four: A visual showcase of the meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Pavilion Five:Â An interactive guide to the formation of the union.
Pavilion Six:Â An homage to the important moments and challenges confronted the founding fathers before 1971.
Pavilion Seven: This will be dedicated to the UAE Constitution and will include the actual declaration itself.
Pavilion Eight:Â The final pavilion will be an open gallery celebrating the new born nation.
Etihad Museum is located at  2nd December St. and open daily from 10:00 am till 08:00 pm
