DESIGNER DIGS

Beirut’s reputation as the city to head to if you’re looking to let your hair down is well-earned. A three-hour flight from Dubai means you can be sipping a cocktail in the legendary Sky Bar in less than the time it takes some people (yes, we can see you blush) to get ready.

Now that we’ve discovered über cool hotel, Le Gray, we’ve found more reasons to escape to this effervescent metropolis. Located in the recently revamped Downtown, which is bringing back the city’s twinkle, Le Gray is part of the exclusive privately owned hotel company CampbellGray who are also behind London’s Dukes hotel and The One Aldwych and Antigua’s Carlisle Bay. Gordon Campbell Gray stamps his own vision onto each room, having personally collected over 500 works of art for the boutique hotel, meaning no two rooms are identical. Another masterpiece can be found on the roof in the form of a flirty purple see-through swimming pool, which has to be seen to be believed.

With fabulous restaurants and bars – Three Sixty offers scintillating views and seductive live jazz – Le Gray knows how to work the ‘wow’ factor.
