If you are into Oysters then book a table at Hunters Room and Grill in Dubai. This quintessential steakhouse is currently hosting an ‘Oyster Adventure’ every Friday night, with the finest selection of bivalves culled from French waters.
The restaurant has an elegant and refined setting with an open kitchen. Almost half the restaurant was full with diners when we arrived there on Friday night to experience the Oyster night.
The menu is simple, you can order one (15 AED), half a dozen (75 AED) or then a dozen (175 AED) of the finest Prat-ar-Coum oysters from the “Abers from Brittany’.  They also offer an impressive list of suggested grape pairings with your order.
Prat-ar-Coum, are known for their subtle flavor with a long finish. Plump and creamy with a slight crunch, the taste is an unusual combination of salty, followed by sweetness and creamy mineral overtones. Cultivated in a unique setting of land and sea, these oysters are covered with salty seawater and clear river water giving them a very unique flavor.
The fruits de mer comes in one tier adorned with the mollusks surrounded by lemon and different homemade sauces-tomato gazpacho, sherry vinegar, passion fruit & olive oil, mixed citrus. There is also a bottle of tobasco sauce for those who prefer more heat.
The oysters are shucked in the kitchen and then served with absolute finesse. We were quick to slurp down the dozen succulent oysters with the various sauces that helped enhance the taste.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the overall service is efficient. Hunters Room and Grill is the best place to get your bivalve fix.Â
