Enjoy French home-style food with a rustic décor and a garden vibe terrace at Bistro des Arts.
We were recently invited to a Bistro des Arts, a quintessential 1970-style Parisian bistro overlooking the waters of Dubai Marina. Serving a repertoire of classic “Terroir” French home-style food with a rustic French décor and a garden vibe terrace, we adored the setting.
While we waited for our food to arrive we were treated to a freshly made baguette with butter and before we knew it we were almost halfway through the loaf! The first starter to arrive was the sautéed prawns with garlic, parsley and lemon. We peeled the jumbo prawns off their shell and took the rest of our bread and dipped it in the sauce. This is the perfect summer dish.
The pan seared foie gras came highly recommended and we didn’t regret trying it at all. Seared in duck fat, it had the perfect balance of richness and sweetness.
In the mains we began with grilled salmon on a bed of asparagus and a homemade sauce. We loved that the fish was not overcooked and this healthy main is something we definitely will be ordering again.
The star of the night was however the mussels in marinara sauce. Served in a large enamel pot accompanied by a side of homemade frites, seared in a tangy marinara sauce, the mussels were truly superb.
Although quite full we went ahead and tried the profiteroles. Airy and light choux was filled with ice cream and topped with a chocolate sauce and almond slivers.
Bistro des Arts is a charming and warm neighbourhood bistro that is an ideal spot to head to for an intimate meal with friends and family.
