Listen to free audiobooks with your children on the largest audiobook platform
One of the largest audiobook platforms in the world, Audible, has started offering free access to hundreds of audiobooks to children and teenagers who are staying at home during the time of Covid-19 epidemic.
Part of the Amazon company, Audible provides a collection of audiobooks in six different languages – English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish – for free, all divided in six different genres: Littlest Listeners, Elementary, Tween, Teen, Literary Classics, Folk & Fairy Tales for All.
Audiobooks are particularly good for children staying at home now as it varies their activities and develops their listening skills and concentration.
Listening to stories can also be more entertaining for them as the human voice: tone and pitch can make the reading more lively and increase the level of meaning to the written words. Hearing a voice telling a story often adds an extra layer of meaning and makes it more “realistic”!
