L’ATELIER DES CHEFS OFFER COOKERY CLASSES TO DUBAI FOODIES

Dubai is a paradise for foodies… Restaurants here, cafés there, and a full palate of cuisine choices. But what if you want to play chef and produce the kind of fare that tempts our taste buds in the Emirate’s finest establishments.

Enter L’atelier des Chefs, the international cooking school that bills itself as more than just a cooking class. Located at Dubai’s Le Méridien Hotel, this brainchild of two French brothers is now one of a dozen international ‘schools’ charged with dragging a fast-food generation back into the kitchen.

On this occasion, our task was to produce magnificent prawns en papillote, using the facilities of a purpose-built kitchen set behind an impressive glass window. These tasty baked parcels could instantly spice up a romantic dinner. And an apple tartine destined for every wannabe chef’s recipe book turned out to be as easy as pie to create.

The menu changes regularly and the ingredients are always fresh and high quality. And better still, you get to join your fellow gourmands in eating your handiwork afterwards.

L’atelier des Chefs doesn’t claim it can make you an expert – but it does promise conversation and cuisine. And if French fare isn’t your thing, there are classes in Arabic, Spanish, Thai and Italian delicacies. You can even make a party of it and book a private class for friends. And there’s quality cookware on sale too; so at least you can look professional in your own kitchen.
