Have you heard about the “Cronut”? A brand new global craze that has gone viral, this cross between a donut and a croissant is a calorific delight that has now arrived on our shores.
Initially created by a French baker in May 2013, it has taken New York by storm with people queing hours to get one. And well you could now be one of them as we have found the sole place – so far – here in Dubai where they sell it.
Get in the line as the supply is scarce and the wait to get them is long-it takes up to 18 hours to prepare these sweet delicacies.
Deep-fried layers of pastry that are either sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon or glazed with chocolate or caramel, there is nothing not to like about this rich, flakey and moist dessert.  Forget the waistline we want more!!
The Cronut might just be another current fad that has a short lifespan but that itself is definitely a good excuse to try it at least once.
