DUBAI’S TRADITIONAL FARM SHOP

Missing the traditional, rustic farm shops that you remember from your childhood? Get ready to jot an address in your diary, as we’ve discovered The Farm House, located in a peaceful corner in Al Manzil, which makes a refreshing change to the generic markets we are used to seeing here.

With the names of the local farms where produce was sourced on a big chalkboard, there is something very personal and inviting about this store. Fresh, organic produce is displayed in big wicker baskets across the room.

We were also delighted to discover fresh organic Goat’s Milk (with a short shelf life of course), Rock Salt in solid form, camel milk soap and even the world’s best honey straight from Yemen. Organic chicken and eggs are also available, whilst seasonal vegetables and fruit from the UAE (including mangoes, lemons, guavas and even small bananas still attached to the trunk) are plentiful in supply.

Those with intolerances and allergies are catered for too, as the store has a gluten-free section that includes a variety of delicious-looking desserts and cakes.

This is also one of the only places in Dubai where you can buy your natural deodorant Alum stone in its natural crystal form.

Devoted to selling fresh, local produce to the community, it is a far more intimate and personal choice when shopping for UAE-sourced products.
