The 6-week (May 27-July 1st) Hula Hoop session organised by Flowground will teach you about channelling self-expression into creative play.
Although spinning a hoop around the waist looks easy, and is often mistaken as child’s play and a hippie game, it is in fact a real workout. If done correctly, it is not only fun but also a hardcore way to burn some serious calories.
Flowground is organising a 6 week course that will explore the joy of Hula Hooping: channelling self-expression into creative play.
This course will take you through hoop dance essentials including waist and hip hooping, recovery, stalls, reverses, lifts, passes, fancy footwork, and off-body tricks, while simultaneously developing your own style of hoop flow! This “exercise in disguise” will build your core control, stability and foundation techniques, while burning up calories!
At the end of each class, you will learn a hooping sequence to play with for the week. In addition, there will be meditative exploration, leaving you feeling refreshed and confident to tackle your challenges head-on.
No previous hooping experience required. Hoopers of all levels are welcome and hoops are available for use and purchase.
