CREEKSIDE THE CULTURAL HUB AND CAFE ON THE DUBAI CREEK

Creekside Cultural Centre and Cafe

Creekside is a cultural space and cafe located in the heart of Old Dubai, directly overlooking the Creek.

Old Dubai has a charm that we can never get enough of.  A bustling part of town, with lots of character and of course affordable shopping, it is a place we often like to explore.

One of our latest wanderings there led us to a quaint cafe located directly on the Creek.  A phenomenal location, there is an outdoor seating with an unbeatable view.  The local abras are docked right in front (for more details click here).  An amazing view to relax and watch the boats meander down the Creek and the seagulls fly around.  There is something about the air that is a lot more refreshing and transports you into holiday-mode.  Interestingly, we overheard a tourist mention how it had a ‘Venice-like vibe’.

Creekside is a cultural space and cafe that offers more than just a refreshing mint lemonade.  A community-driven initiative, Creekside offers regular courses for various different art and culture related subjects.  Open to the public, you can register for all types of different short courses including kilm making and calligraphy-prices vary depending on the course, materials and number of days.

The cafe has a fairly extensive menu-an interesting mix of traditional Arabic dishes with a contemporary twist.  Open everyday from 8am, you can try everything from Emirati style scrambled eggs served with truffles (45 AED) to french toast with smoked date jam (35 AED).

Creekside is definitely worth a visit on your own or then with out of town guests.
