Social media and photography combine to create art
If you’re planning on staying around the UAE this summer then we recommend taking a day trip to Sharjah where you can check out a great new photography exhibition called #Sharjah 1000.
It all started when Reem Saeed, an Emirati photographer asked social media users to post photos they had taken of Sharjah on Instagram.
Over 70 participants took part in the social media promotion with over 1000 pictures posted. These images have now been combined to create a huge collage of the best 1000 images which focuses on Sharjah through the eyes of its people.
This exhibition has become a fun way to discover more about the lifestyle, events, culture and landmarks of Sharjah in a very creative and personal way.
The exhibition is open now at SAF Art Spaces until the 10th of August 2014.
