Fish is located on the water’s edge at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi.
We were invited to Fish Beach Taverna, an Aegean restaurant now open on the water’s edge at the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi. Although Dubai has a long list of beautifully decorated and designed restaurants, this traditional beach taverna style setting is simply breathtaking and unlike any other in the city.
The whitewashed walls, fresh decor and cobbled pathway are strongly reminiscent of the Mediterranean islands. It is an open-air location with scenic views of the Palm Jumeirah and also has tables directly on the beach for those who love sand in their feet.
The wholesome menu offers the freshest wild, cold-water fish from the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea and Marmara Sea, something quite rare in the city. Â The fresh produce and ingredients are handpicked in Turkey and flown direct over.
The Chefs have designed a truly authentic dining experience that begins with cold platters and salads brought out to the table for guests to choose from. Spoilt for choice, we thoroughly enjoyed the mezze spread.
We began with cacik (40 AED), yogurt mixed with cucumber, garlic and fresh mint. We also tried the slow grilled eggplant mixed with long green peppers, red pepper, tomatoes, garlic, chili flakes, olive oil and vinegar dish called Manca (40 AED).
If you love cheese then the Ezme (40 AED) is worth a try-cottage and goats cheese, blended with fresh herbs almonds, dried oregano and served with lemon and garlic olive oil.
The Medye Dolma (40 AED), mussels stuffed with rice and other spices looks as delicious as it tastes.
From the fire option we handpicked sea bream from the fresh fish display and chose to have it grilled-it was perfectly cooked and went well with the side of dark pilaf (30 AED) that we ordered.
One of our favourite dishes of the night was the hearty casserole Safran (160 AED)-pan fried sea bass cooked in a flavourful saffron sauce.
Fish Dubai offers a cozy and charming outdoor atmosphere that is best enjoyed with friends and family sharing the home style cooking overlooking the beach.
Fish Beach Taverna will be open daily for dinner, and lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday.
