If there’s one city in the world that knows how to celebrate big – it’s Dubai. So it is no surprise that UAE National Day is one of the biggest special occasions of the year, marked by loads of festivities, cultural events and activities across the emirate. As there is so much on offer, we put together a list of some of the best things to see and do.

Head Downtown for a Fun-Filled Parade

You simply can’t get the whole National Day experience without stopping by the annual parade, which his being held this year in Downtown Dubai. Beyond the family-friendly atmosphere and festive vibes, the parade will feature traditional dancers and drumming groups, supercars, and marching bands, who will be marching down Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. Best of all, this event is free to the public.

The parade will take place from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, 2nd December 2017.

 

Learn How to Make Emirati Food

If you’ve ever wanted to taste or make traditional Emirati cuisine, now is your chance to learn the basics and tantalize your taste buds. Aseelah Restaurant at Radisson Blu – Deira Creek in cooperation with Dubai’s own Frying Pan Adventures, will be offering a hands-on cookery class that will take participants on a culinary journey through Emirati culture by coaching them to make four of the most popular traditional local dishes.

Wafi’s patriotic presentation

Wafi will debut a new sound and light show for National Day that will celebrate UAE pride and involve the participation of the public. Visitors are invited to show their love for the country by participating in the “Hand for the Nation” event series where they will come together to light a portion of a super-sized UAE Flag. The flag will become one of the main highlights of the festive show, which will be a free event held near the Wafi Pyramids.

Enjoy a Theatrical Treat at a Discount

Dubai’s latest theatrical attraction “La Perle” is offering a special 46 percent discount on tickets in celebration of the UAE’s 46th National Day. Tickets are selling fast for this artistic extravaganza which blends creative imagery, amazing performance and technology to tell a visual story.

The show is being held at Al Habtoor City and discounted tickets start at AED 216 per person.

Don’t Miss Dubai’s World-Famous Fireworks

Fireworks will be going off across Dubai on National Day, so you will probably be able to catch a show near you. However, for those who want to see something spectacular, we recommend you check out the fireworks display at The Beach, JBR, which is set to be the biggest. To ensure that you get the best view of the display, be sure to make a reservation at one of the nearby restaurants.

The show will begin at 9pm on 2nd December 2017, while you can also see the UAE Air Force flyover at 1:30pm on the same day at Festival City.
