THE THINGS THAT WE MISSED IN DUBAI AFTER A LONG BREAK

burj al arab dubai

Some of our top favourite things in Dubai that make us love it all over again after a break.

The summer break is officially over and its time to get back into the usual routine.  After a fun summer away we all need that reminder of why we love this city so much and call it home.  Dubai has so much to offer and so much to do.  So, in case you are experiencing that post-holiday slump, read on.

How To Embrace Dubai After The Summer:

Relaxing Manicure and Pedicure Treatment

Let’s face it, no manicure or pedicure can compare to the ones we find here.  In fact we are guilty of being spoilt by the amazing nail spas and going in for a bi-weekly ritual of having our nails, buffed and polished.  Our personal favourite is the add on treatments with a regular manicure and pedicure that include a scrub and mask for the hands and feet.  We recently tried the Almond Treatment that left our post-holiday skin feeling refreshed and relaxed.  For more details click here.

Almond Treatment Manicure and Pedicure in Dubai costs AED 250.

Bespoke Tailoring Services in Dubai

When we find a dress or top that fits well, we want multiple colours in it.  So, instead of spending money on the designer version, in Dubai we can have it copied by one of our personal favourite tailors.  Tops starts at just 70 AED and all we need to do is take in the original item and let Al Fida tailor copy the design.  The item takes just one week to stitch! We love the bespoke tailoring service options in Dubai that will allow you to have a flattering wardrobe without breaking the bank.  For more details click here.

The Most Luxurious Beauty Ritual

Till we moved to Dubai we had no idea what a Hammam even was.  Fast-forward to a few years of living here and this is now a monthly ritual.  Albeit expensive, this traditional Moroccan and Turkish bathing experience exfoliates and softens the skin, like no other treatment.  Our personal favourite of course is the 50 minute, Traditional Hammam Experience (445 AED) at the One and Only Royal Mirage.  For more details click here.

Supervised Care For When You Wish To Shop Till You Drop

Shopaholics love Dubai because we have the world’s biggest mall.  But that’s not all, if you are a mum and want to shop, then in Dubai you can actually deposit your children off at a Caboodle.  A beautifully decorated play area, located in the mall, you can then dash for your favourite stores, content in the knowledge that they are well looked after and enjoying themselves as much as you are.  For more details click here.

Caboodle is open to children from 6 months old and starts at 85 AED per hour.

Affordable And Delicious Indian Food

Who doesn’t adore Indian food?  Well, in Dubai, you can get more than just a Butter Chicken, in fact head on over for the most affordable and delicious Indian meal at Bikenervala.  A no-frills, but impeccably clean Indian cafĂ© that serves traditional Indian dishes.  We recommend ordering the ‘Dosa’ – a South Indian version of the crepe. Made from rice and lentils, it’s long and golden brown in colour and comes in over ten different varieties and starts at just 8 AED.  For more details click here.
