A must-try if you want a taste of healthy and wholesome vegan dishes.
Folia is tucked away in the lush green lawns of the fabulous Four Seasons Resort on Jumeirah Beach Road. This plant-based eatery has the most cozy outdoor setting with just a few tables all situated under the shade of the trees. A truly hidden gem, we loved the intimate setting and verdant surroundings.
Meaning “from the leaves” in Latin, Folia is a concept developed by celebrated Chef Matthew Kenney in partnership with HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud’s KBW Ventures and presented in the Resort as a stand-alone menu. Featuring refreshing options for health-driven individuals, Folia proves healthy eating can be delicious.
The menu has a variety of vegan dishes that all sound delicious and really appetizing. We totally struggled to pick just a few options but thanks to the helpful and friendly staff, they made our decisions easier.
As we sipped the healthy green detox juice we waited for our dishes to arrive. We began with dukkah avocado served with tomato jam, radish, greens and a delicious lemon tahini sauce. A wholesome dish, we can’t stop thinking about it!
The baby spinach salad was another hearty green bowl filled with crunchy leaves, oranges, asparagus, radish and topped with a delightful lemon ginger vinaigrette.
Our order of tacos was another huge hit on the table. An appetizing mix of roasted cauliflower, mushroom barbacoa, guacamole and pico de gallo, they really hit the spot.
If you love mushrooms as much as we do then the wild mushroom sandwich made with caramelized onion, truffle aioli and rocket leaves. A satisfying meal on its own, we can already see ourselves coming back just for this dish.
Although our bellies were full and happy, it was hard to say no to the coconut cream pie. A luscious but perfectly balanced sweet treat made with macadamia crust and coconut crème.
Folia is an enjoyable experience that you won’t regret trying!
